Fares Iskander a World Class Lyricist

Fares Iskander is a gifted song writer, the young Lebanese lyricists has a way with words and very few Lebanese lyricists can write songs as popular as Fares can. Fares wore this most romantic song for Elissa "'Ala Bali", a song so romantic that you think a woman wrote it. He wrote dozens of other great romantic songs. I watched an interview few months ago with Fares and thought he is a naturally shy person as he came to deafened his popular yet provocative song "Jumhoryat Qalby" It might come as a surprise that the biggest hits of last summer one has been dubbed as the most romantic Arabic songs in ages and another the opposite. one anti romantic were bought authored by the same person. Which goes to tell you Fares is just like all poet, conflicted in his ability to make peace with two conflicting ideas.

But today, I want to focus on his work on Lebanese music where he mastered creating hits using traditional Lebanese Debka beat. He is the hottest lyricist in that country now and those who get some of his lyrics are luck to make it big...he is one hit maker for sure. He says he is not a poet, but he is full of feelings and senses. That might be true, but in his business he is king. It does not hurt that his father happens to be a popular singer who often sings the lyrics of his son...how cool is that?

Here is the latest song crafted by a new comer, Lebanese singer Ibrahim Sa'eid....I really like the lyrics, they feel very traditional, like the songs only my grandma would recite to us and amuse us. Yes, the meanings are still relevant today. I like the music video, I love the olives....this is one of the few times olives --a popular harvest in Arabia gets some air time. There is also some cheese involved. Enjoyed the flute and the vintage feel the clip has where they pay homage to all the great things about Lebanon. The exotic model and the nice car do not hurt either.
