Hayam Younes, "The Star of the East" is Back

Not much is written about Hayam Younes and her career. With more than 550 songs to her credit in classical Arabic and the Tarab style. Legendary Egyptian composer Mohammad Abdelwahab called her "The voice with the most serious emotions". She a Lebanese and has been doing music in her country and representing it in festivals and concerts around the world.

Hayam started singing in 1960s and kept going till 1989 when she took a break. She made a come back in 2000. During the course of her career, she worked with scores of A list Arab composers and poets. "The Star of the East", "The Intellectual Artist" and "The singer of Arab Poems" are all titled she has been given.

The good news is in her new music video where she is singing for that "Lucky Person", I am in love with this lady's voice. Whose voice is like Samira Toufic's in the style of Asalah. But she is a lot more than all those, they are all good voices, but non one has the kind of rich history and versatile songs. Just check out how well she pronounce those Arab words and how at ease she is channeling her sentiment.s
